This is beautiful! All frosty and cold! I have to say your accent is remarkably Bostonian! I'm sure it's not supposed to be, but that's what my American ears hear!
A beautiful photo that could evoke the longing for frosty-cold winterdays like this. I understood the Yorkshire dialect -my home town is twinned with York since a lot of years - and sometimes we can hear this accent here.
I wish you a fine wedding (as very good friend, collegue, and photographer?) in the Dartmoor which belongs to the areas in UK I love more than all!
Oh yes, it is sad. The knight does look rather effeminate, though with his long flowing hair, he dress-like tunic and the bows on his shoes (shame about the moustache ["the Beared Lady"]).
Under the cloak of darkness
A knight slips past the dragon
And slowly opens the door
Of the forbidden tower.
As he ascends the stairs,
He hears her voice say,
“One day my knight will come.”
Quickly, he calls for her to come.
She opens the door, but remains still.
Her lips move as if to speak
But the knight grabs her hand,
And as they descend the stairs,
He hears her whisper to herself,
“One day my knight will come.”
Outside, the dragon has awakened
And his raging can be heard
Long before the two reach the door.
The knight draws his sword to fight.
And as they near the exit
He hears her proclaim,
“One day my knight will come.”
Bursting through the doorway,
The knight engages the dragon.
Sword clashes against scales,
Flames against shield and helm.
And amidst the battle,
He can hear her say,
“One day my knight will come.”
In bewilderment he cries out to her,
Pleading with her to flee for her life,
As he continues to occupy the dragon
With blow after blow from his blade.
But she remains in the doorway,
Repeating to herself,
“One day my knight will come.”
In despair, strength is drained
From the burnt and bleeding knight
As he makes his final attempts
To provide escape for his love.
But she just rolls her eyes
And in a cold voice says,
“One day my knight will come.”
Still, the knight continues to fight
In hopes of saving his maiden,
Until at last he is conquered
By a final fiery blast from the dragon.
And as he falls to the ground dead,
She closes the door and says,
“One day my knight will come.”
Yorksha wus col den...eh!
