And not a bicycle in sight! Did you throw them in the stream as some kind of ritual taming act?

Great shot, Alkan.

If I was a hill, I'd be trembling with fear of being conquered.
Alan: Bikes just alongside the canal, Ray. I never thought about throwing them in; now there's an idea!

Lol at Ray! It is amazing how well you can speak Yorkshire dialect! You are proud, sportive mannen with musculous legs and no belly! David seems to be the Benjamin of the group? And Nr. 5 is just swimming in the canal?
Alan: No no. 5 again this year. Although Duncan agreed to the dates and said he was coming, he later on remembered that it was "wifey's birthday" and so was not "allowed". Shame as we had a job getting a five bedroom house. We know he takes a dim view of us stopping in teashops and the like! Never mind.

If this was ancient Iceland sagas would be written whereby theses four heroes' exploits would be handed down for generations to come.

However in century 21 we only have the internet to exaggerate & distort things.
Alan: Exaggerate and distort? Me? Never! smile. This is our 12th year of doing Daft Things and we have decided to put a book together with tales of daring exploits and our narrow escapes from death. We are expecting to sell at least four copies...
A fine body of men. I have bought a bike but so far have only got as far as the local post office
Alan: I bought some running shows six weeks ago (I used to be a keen runner many years ago); never been put on yet. Now my holiday season is coming to an end for the next three months, I'm expecting that to change. Riding to your post office is a good idea; start gently and build up.
Why did it need a translation? Eh!
Alan: T' translation wor necessary sa 'a' normal english fowk could understan' wha' ah wor sayin!
I didn't understand a word of the part in yellow. Was actually wondering what language it was. Got me good!

The book sounds like a great idea.
You all look very well on it
I wish I had the energy of you guys Alan, like Bill I can just about make our Post Office.
That's a fine quartet of knobbly knees, Alan!
I'm so glad you provided the interpretation - I had no idea what you'd said! You four look ready to take on the world!
