photoblog image Crescent Beach

Crescent Beach

I make no apologies for showing you yet another view of Crescent Beach (see here for the previous image). This shot really sums up the appeal of the Oregon coast for me with the glorious beaches, the forests, the mountains almost down to the beach and the fabulous sea stacks.  I had three nights in Cannon Beach - three years is really what i would like. Well, at least one winter anyway to see the huge crashing waves driven on to the coast by the Pacific storms (hmmmm... an idea is forming - what's stopping me? There has to be several summer vacation rental homes that would be a good price in winter. The US Visa Waiver Programme allows me in for 90 days and I could always pop down the road to Arizona to see Frank and Elizabeth - maybe even get some snow in the mountains in their "back garden".)

No apology needed for displaying this gem, Alan.
Alan: A favourite from my trip. Mind you, I've yet to have a chance to go through he other approx 4500 images!

Magnifique paysage avec cette mer bleue.
Alan: Thanks, Martine. It is a favourite from my trip.
Just gorgeous, Alan!

Yes - what IS stopping you??? Frank will be in England this Christmas... but I'll be here. And there's always next year you need to plan for! December and January are our prettiest snows!
Alan: Thanks, Elizabeth. Beware of a knock on your door maybe during the winter... check who's there before opening it smile

Oh, I see you are already planning your next trip to the States and I see Elizabeth has already invited you. This is a wonderful image of this beach, but I think the Atlantic coast in Europe is not less glorious.
Alan: Well, it's just a mad idea like the hundreds of other mad ideas that go through my mind at times smile I know that the Atlantic coast is equally beautiful (Scotland I know for sure ) but I'm sure that being America, the waves must be bigger smile

I remember seeing it before but, well worth seeing again in a new light.
Alan: Every day is a different view. I wonder what it is like with huge breakers driven by a winter gale? I'd probably be blown over the side of the cliff.

Off you go then!

Lovely picture..
Alan: Well, it's just a mad idea like the hundreds of other mad ideas that go through my mind at times. Maybe I'll just have a few days in Cornwall - or Scotland smile

Who did work in a Madhouse, might have the right and freedom to have mad ideas! I would recommend the Cornish Atlantic coast, for example the Bedruthan Steps where I once walked along. A highlight must be the Alabaster Coast and Smeralda Coast in the Normandy and Bretagne - or the Algarve coast in Portugal or rocky coasts in Greece and Italy or the White Cliffs on Rügen in Germany! The waves at the North- Sea can be as high as a house.
Alan: So many places... so little time. I knew I should have retired 30 years sooner smile
It really is a magnificent land/seascape Alan. I think your plan for a winter trip is a good idea, trouble is possibly having to drive in a lot of snow.
Alan: Well, it's just a mad idea like the hundreds of other mad ideas that go through my mind at times. I may just go to Cornwall instead smile
See you then, Alan...smile Or you could come up North and visit Michael and I's private Irish sea beach...smile
Alan: Well, it's just a mad idea like the hundreds of other mad ideas that go through my mind at times. One day, though, I may just be idly looking at air fares and then who knows what will happen. Are you staying in England now until the house gets sold?
No apology needed Alan. This is superb
You've done a great job with this iconic view.
