London from the top deck of a number 88 bus - 10

Regent Street. So many famous clothing brands want a storefront on this road. Just round the bend on the right in Hamley's Toystore.. always a delight for a children even in their 60s.

A very nice street scene, Alan!
Alan: One of the prime retail areas of the UK, together with Bond Street (very expensive) and Oxford Street. Thanks, Elizabeth.

Les bâtiments sont magnifiques.
Alan: The West End of London has some beautiful architecture which I would have missed if walking.

They were talking of pedestrianizing Regent Street not long ago. I wonder if it will happen?
Alan: I thought that was Oxford Street? TfL does seem to have a limitless fund to do what it likes.

Yes, the Regent Street is famous for clothing. I like the bunting. What does mean TfL?
Alan: It's "Transport for London" - the main organisation that looks after the buses, overland trains, the Tube, taxis, congestion charging, cycle highways, etc. It works very closely with the Mayor of London. Thanks, Philine.
This is totally "top deck," Alan! smile
Alan: Quite right. I've walked this street many times without looking up at the architecture of the buildings.
What an elegant parade this is Alan

I like the flags, much better than just boring national flags.
Alan: Yes exactly.

Alan: Oh thank you, Philine. I leant much from that smile
Iconic view of London.
Alan: Probably instantly recognisable around the world.
Building wise I always think this is one of the finest looking streets in central London, it would seem the shops aren't allowed to cover the architecture with large garish signs.

The coloured flags are spectacular.
Alan: They add a splash of colour on a dull day.
good shot of the traffic in London Alan... there is a lot to see in this image....petersmile
Alan: It was the architecture that appeals here; I've not been so aware of it when walking.
