Elizabeth is right! And a fascinating POV -and such a lot of sheep! Surely a castle with a great history!
Alan: THanks, Philine; it is a lovely area. Wikipedia has this to say: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunstanburgh_Castle

A beautiful thing as a ruin Alan.

Talking of which - I hope you managed to stay intact as a result of your weekend cycling activities!
Alan: Thanks, Chris. Yes, we all come back with the same amount of blood as we went way with so a success. All very steep hills though and a challenge to us but great fun, great company and great food.

At last I can say, 'been there'. I love this coastline and cannot understand why more people do not visit.
Alan: That's some of the attractions for me; not only have you been there but also that so few other people have been smile
The sheep surrounding it are fantastic and that nice late afternoon light is beautiful!

This spectacular castle was a favourite subject for W.Turner: http://www.tate.org.uk/art/artworks/turner-dunstanburgh-castle-the-lilburn-tower-at-sunrise-d00954, he preferred the light at sunrise.
Looking good on the hilltop Alan. It is a beautiful part of the country
Great shot Alan; I wouldn't be able to hold back on exploring this one!
I have to agree Alan. I love Bamburgh Castle too

Looks good Alan, however at the moment the steamiest on the coast is such that it would be difficult to get this shot, however I wll be trying tomorrow.
