It is a minor miracle that you weren't either swept away by torrents of rain or hospitalised after riding yer bikes off a northern cliff!

My favorite hiking place ends atop a large hill too. It is always the last hill that's the killer.

Does the new monument commemorate the Crimean war or just put up at that time. I wonder why they would want to remove the Waterloo memorial?

Nicely composed Alan,there is some lovely countryside around that area, and you do see a lot, of this style of monument,on different hills and ridges.
