I like it, Alan! I am always humbled when I think of the men and women who have participated in wartime, in the quest for Peace. And happy birthday Jane!
Alan: It was good that many volunteered to fight for what they believed to be right - and still do, of course.
I know what you mean, Alan, Every time I go into Bath I see something that has obviously been there for years that I have never spotted before. This is a reminder for us
Alan: Thanks, Lisl. I feel I know more about non-local towns than I do my own.
It is always a pleasure when one discovers something unnoticed, it gives me great joy. Perhaps they could have worded this differently and called this the Liberation of Europe rather than Invasion of. I suppose it is because we all understand it but future generations might just read that we invaded Europe.
Alan: I've never thought of it in that way before. "Invasion" does seem an odd word in this context.
