The ducks seem to be enjoying the water, Alan...not having to dodge 1000 boats!
Alan: Far more restful.
Well I like you Floatilla Photo! Probably better than if a million people had turned up!
Alan: Quite right! I can't cope with crowds and this was a fine substitute smile

'angonaminnit - is this Scumsville's alternative pageant?
Alan: Don't be daft. The new Socialist Republic of Southampton would have none of this Royalist nonsense. This is from the delightful village of Goudhurst in Kent. Actually, Southampton is marking the Diamond Jubilee. I've been awake since 5am with the horns from Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria and Queen Mary II marking a simultaneous arrival in the docks. The Red Arrows are supposed to be performing at around 6.30pm but rain is forecast.
Thank goodness they have not included those ghastly coloured tents along the river bank by these buildings, I don't know how they obtained permission to erect them on such a sensitive building.
Alan: Hmmm... Now planning laws.. Who put those on the statue book? Ah yes... Parliament! Don't do as we do, do as we say.
Luckily you got a good seat for the event.
Alan: Standing room only, Mary. The two benches were both occupied smile

I like your relaxed attitude, Alan
Alan: I felt cheated; I wanted to see the flotilla smile
It is a fine model Alan, but to be honest, what I saw of the BBC presentation was absolutely abysmal.
Alan: I've not seen any of it. I did have a Lancaster fly over me onnSaturday when I was in Kent; that was goodsmile
I assume that the dynamite is laid and the fuse is ready to light?
Alan: One can hope! Preferably with all the idiots inside!
I like the idea of a floating parliament....up anchor and let it float away on a bed of hot air powered by bulls**t
Alan: Rather like floating voters I would expect.
