Boat Friday

Time for another holiday. I'm heading up the Lake District today for 8 days. I'm renting a cottage that is somewhere in the distance just beyond the end in the lake in the small hamlet of Hartsop. Hopefully the wi-fi will be working (the property details say "Wi-fi (superfast from Mid July 2018)") but more importantly there will not the storms and power cuts I had the last time I rented in November 2015. This shot is from late Novermber 2016; there was snow on the fells then but I'm not expecting any this week.

If I've recovered from the trip up (I've got to go via Heathrow airport to drop off my brother and his wife), I'll catch up with your comments this evening.

I wish you a wonderful holyday in the Lakes and lovely meet-ups with your Herdwick ladies! I love the photo!
Alan: I’ve seen some Scottish Blackface sheep but i’m Right on the edge of the Lake District for tonight. Tomorrow I move into the higher fells for a week so more chance of seeing my favourites. Thanks, Philine!

A demanding day today, Alan
Alan: Surpringly, it was only an extra 40 miles going via Heathrow than it is going up the A34. Still tiring, though.

It looks a fantastic setting for your vacation Alan, I am quite envious. I expect a lot of walking will be involved. Hope the WiFi holds up.
Alan: I have high hopes for it. I’m in a Premier inn on the bottom left hand corner of the Lakes for a night but go to the cottage tomorrow.
May wonderful beams of light give you some good photo weather.
Alan: Thanks, Mary. Looks like it’s going to be a wet and windy start 🌧🌧🌧💨💨💨
Great picture Alan. Have a safe journey, and a good time with, hopefully, good weather.
Alan: Thanks, Brian, not looking too promis8ng for tomorrow with rain and wind forecast but Sunday is looking better.
You've picked a stunning location for your 8 day holiday, Alan. Enjoy!
Alan: Always a joy here no matter what the weather 💨💨💨🌧🌧🌧
it looks like a ruggedly attractive place, Alan. i am sure you will have a memorable time.
The flag really stands out in a fine composition...
I think I've gotten this exact shot... even with the snow! smile
Enjoy your time in the Lakes - you know how we love it there!
