You made the best of it, Alan.
Alan: Thanks, Frank. Luckily there was somewhere to seek shelter as it was quite difficult to walk around because of the strength of the wind.
Gorgeous photo, Alan!! Nice work!
Alan: Thanks, Elizabeth. The cafe was a great spot from which to watch the seas.
That view would help to make the coffee taste good.
Alan: Exactly! A full English breakfast, too!

I really need to go back to Portland Bill.

The sky is amazing!
Alan: Even though I'm relatively close to it, it still takes a heck of time to get there unfortunately so I don't go down that often.

And the sea is in wild uproar ... a glimpse or a glimpe?

Sea scales can be a little boring, but not this one. Sea and sky combine well. I hope the breakers was good.
Alan: I don't think the locals would be happy to hear that. Their website says "Seascale is a small attractive seaside resort, significantly enhanced in Victorian times by the introduction of the Furness Railway in the 1850’s. Rich in history, the village can trace its origins back to an early Norse settlement and to Roman Britain." smile The breakfast was excellent, thank you.
A fine seascape Alan with a wonderful ky
Alan: One of the highlights of autumn for me. Love the wind when photographing seascapes but loath it when cycling or walking. The breakfast was excellent, by the way.
A brilliant sea as long as one is only looking at it.
Alan: Not to the day to be out on the sea that's for sure.
for some reason, the thought of a lighthouse crossed my head, Alan. excellent shot.
Alan: Ah.. well then you will like tomorrow's image smile
