Very peaceful!
Alan: One of England's great trout streams.
I didn't know they had to pass a test....
Alan: Yes.. can't have dodgy water wink
Jolie photo, on dirait un pigeonnier.
Alan: I think it is something to do with the eel traps.

Which river?
I like the thatched hut.
Alan: Ah.. well, I can't give you any clues, I'm afraid; this is the test.

I wonder how the River got its name - any ideas, Alan?
Alan: My friend Wiki says "The river's name is believed to be Celtic in origin possibly related to the Welsh tres (tumult, commotion, contention, uproar) or trais (force, might in older Welsh)". A more tranquil river is hard to imagine so that the Celts got it wrong!

a lovely, tranquil scene!
Alan: This is one of England's finest trout streams; the fishing rights cost of fortune, I believe. Thanks, Philine.
It even has a weathervane!!!
Alan: Just for you, Ginnie. smile

That swan makes the pictures. Does he need to do a swimming test to cross here?? I like the thatched hut with the fish weather vane on top.
Alan: Yes, we don't let any old swans swim here smile Only those that pass the test are permitted!

I think we can fairly guess this is pretty clear & unpolluted water. I like the hut with the fish on top, whatever it might be..
Alan: The river is one of Hampshire's chalk springs so the water is very clear. The hut is something to do with the eel traps, I should think.

Alright then, is it the Mississippi?
Alan: I can testify that this is the Test. You may have been fooled by the sternwheeler boat just out of shot.
Is that your summer cottage Alan?
Alan: No, a little too small for me and probably no wi-fi.
Quelle belle lumière ..belle prise de vue
Alan: Its a very peaceful and tranquil location.

Thanks for the clue. Is it the river Test?
Alan: I believe so.
Firstly I like the image very much, the Swan finishes it off. Many years ago we came down your way for a long weekend to our Nephews wedding and stayed in a cottage on a private estate not far from Christchurch through which a beautiful stream/river flowed and in the back of my mind i seem to recall that might have been part of the River Test.
Alan: I think the rivers you are thinking of are the Stour and the Avon, depending whereabouts in Christchurch you were; both join not far from the Priory. The Test flows into Southampton Water on the west side of Southampton.
Lovely scene and shot so well.
> A lovely spot for a swan.
